I am not sure about your first question as I have not had to roll back
to WM2003 myself.  As for the second point, it is probably more of a
catchall legal comment.  I have been able to do all of the things with
my upgraded x50v I did before the upgrade.

One thing you REALLY have to do is make a couple changes to the Axim
x50v after doing the upgrade.  I posted this how-to...

...and many have tried it and noticed a big difference in the
performance.  I noticed that it is MUCH snappier.

I also posted a how-to on being able to use true VGA on a WM5 device.

I'm doing this with my x50v as well and it works quite well.  For web
browsing it is soooo much nicer to have true VGA.
