I am thinking of buying pocket pc running windows CE. I have downloaded MS Device emulator running in my xp which works fine and I couldn't figure how to install app/games. I have searched everywhere for guides using google without luck. I believe I needed to have MS Activesync which I downloaded and I couldn't configure or to get it working.
I am wondering if I am doing right or not and I would be most grateful for any help to get it working.
You do need to use ActiveSync to install programs. The emulator functions as if you have a device actually connected to your PC. You need to follow the usual instructions for installing programs to Pocket PC. Usually this involves downloading a file to your PC, running the .EXE file, and then running ActiveSync to install the program on the device.

Thanks for replying:) I have wasted my time then :( even though I tried to run from virtual SM Card too.
Is there any other working Pocketpc emulator?

Who else but MS would you expect to have an emulator for an MS OS? They are unlikely to have multiple emulators for the same item but there is nothing to stop you searching their website.

Microsoft used to produce an emulator for each of their developer kits. These were very buggy and of no use to anyone but developers. The newest emulates actual hardware far more closely. I think it is still aimed primarily at developers, and thus not easily used by others. I'm surprised ARM and/or Intel let Microsoft distribute such a good emulator. I suspect anyone who tried to do better would hear from Microsoft, ARM, and/or Intel lawyers.
